Andreas Mueller, PT, CFMT

Andreas attended Concordia University Wisconsin, receiving his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine in January 1999 and master’s degree in physical therapy in May 2001. He has been practicing as a staff orthopedic physical therapist with Select Physical Therapy since July 2001. Andreas treats a variety of orthopedic injuries but specializes in spine and extremity rehabilitation with a focus on complex, chronic conditions. In 2006, he completed a two-year orthopedic residency and achieved a certified functional manual therapist (CFMT) certificate through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA).

Andreas has been a faculty member for Select Medical’s Continuing Education Department since 2003. He has authored and instructed numerous courses both locally and nationally. With the assistance of Mark Butler, MPT, OCS, Cert. MDT, he co-authored the primary instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) course for Select Medical in 2013. Since then, he has instructed IASTM more than 50 times at national courses and conferences. In 2014, Mark and Andreas also partnered with HawkGrips to develop the company’s primary IASTM educational courses.

In 2016, Andreas developed “Advanced IASTM and Joint Mobilization of the Upper Quarter” to integrate IASTM treatment with differential diagnosis and additional manual therapy techniques for addressing complex upper-quarter dysfunctions. In addition to IASTM courses, Andreas has developed and taught “Manual Therapy and Exercise Prescription in Cancer Survivorship,” “Therapeutic Exercise Prescription,” “Shoulder, Spine, Hip and Sacroiliac Rehabilitation,” and “Soft Tissue Mobilization and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF).” He frequently guest lectures at Texas State University’s School of Physical Therapy and has instructed at national hand conferences throughout the country. Andreas also developed and leads a local mentorship program to assist new physical therapists in developing their skills and clinical thought process.
