PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE VIRTUAL FORMAT:

This is a LAB-based and interactive course. It is strongly recommended (but not required) to have access to the following:

1. (For IASTM) At least one IASTM tool and a partner / "patient" to practice on.

2. (For BFR) BFR equipment.  BFR application / practice can be performed on a partner or yourself.

Our in-person and virtual courses cover the same information, course objectives, and have the same certification exams.  For virtual, the live (zoom) portion has a condensed schedule.

This 1-hour webinar explores how BFR can be effectively utilized from early-stage rehabilitation through return-to-sport and athletic performance enhancement. Participants will examine the physiological mechanisms underlying BFR, current evidence-based applications, and key safety considerations for a variety of patient and athlete populations.

  • Describe the physiological mechanisms and evidence-based principles underlying Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training across rehabilitation and performance settings.

  • Identify appropriate indications, contraindications, safety considerations, and patient/athlete selection criteria for BFR implementation.

  • Compare BFR devices, restriction methods, and exercise prescription variables used throughout the rehab-to-performance continuum.

  • Apply BFR programming strategies to support rehabilitation, return-to-sport progression, strength development, hypertrophy, and athletic performance enhancement.

  • Integrate current research and clinical evidence into practical BFR applications within physical therapy, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and sports medicine environments
