Clinical Corner: Blood Flow Restriction Training: An Evidence-Based Update for the Healthcare Professional
Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT) is an emerging type of exercise that uses compression cuffs around an arm or leg to restrict or occlude blood flow. BFRT can produce improvements in muscle strength, hypertrophy, and aerobic capacity with only light resistance exercise and physical activity. This discussion will provide the healthcare professional with a BFRT evidence-based update on such topics such as BFRT scientific concepts, application & safety, exercise programming, and scope of practice considerations.
This course is eligible for 1 Hour of CE Credit.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE VIRTUAL FORMAT:
This is a LAB-based and interactive course. It is strongly recommended (but not required) to have access to the following:
1. (For IASTM) At least one IASTM tool and a partner / "patient" to practice on.
2. (For BFR) BFR equipment. BFR application / practice can be performed on a partner or yourself.
Our in-person and virtual courses cover the same information, course objectives, and have the same certification exams. For virtual, the live (zoom) portion has a condensed schedule.
