This is a Live, 8-Hour In-Person course. This course covers the skills necessary to safely and effectively implement Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. The course is set up in a “learn by doing” format in which participants will receive hands-on instruction in the proper use of BFR Equipment and Training. After understanding the history, research, physiology, and implications for use, attendees will put this in to practice in supervised lab sessions.

This 8-hour course covers the skills necessary to safely and effectively implement Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. Dr. Warren joined the faculty at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2005 and is a professor of athletic training in the School of Allied Health at the OSU Center for Health Sciences. While at OSU, he has served as director of the Athletic Training Program, coordinator of health and human performance, and head of the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology.

Dr. Warren joined the faculty at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2005 and is a professor of athletic training in the School of Allied Health at the OSU Center for Health Sciences. While at OSU, he has served as director of the Athletic Training Program, coordinator of health and human performance, and head of the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology.

Dr. Warren earned his doctorate in education from DePaul University, holds a master’s of science degree from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s of science degree from University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is currently a member of the USA Track & Field volunteer sports medicine staff, providing athletic healthcare at local and international athletic competitions.

In addition, Dr. Warren has earned credentialing as a certified strength and conditioning specialist and corrective exercise specialist, as well as certification in manual therapy techniques such as myofascial decompression, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, positional release therapy, dry needling, and muscle energy techniques.

His research explores patient-centered outcomes and the efficacy of manual therapies in treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction; evidence-based practice; and force characteristics of muscle in response to stretching and fatigue. Dr. Warren’s recent work has explored alterations in musculotendinous stiffness, perfusion, and architectural changes in soft tissue in response to manual therapies.
