Fundamentals of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training

This is a Live, 8-Hour In-Person course. This course covers the skills necessary to safely and effectively implement Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. The course is set up in a “learn by doing” format in which participants will receive hands-on instruction in the proper use of BFR Equipment and Training. After understanding the history, research, physiology, and implications for use, attendees will put this in to practice in supervised lab sessions.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE VIRTUAL FORMAT:
This is a LAB-based and interactive course. It is strongly recommended (but not required) to have access to the following:
1. (For IASTM) At least one IASTM tool and a partner / "patient" to practice on.
2. (For BFR) BFR equipment. BFR application / practice can be performed on a partner or yourself.
Our in-person and virtual courses cover the same information, course objectives, and have the same certification exams. For virtual, the live (zoom) portion has a condensed schedule.

At the completion of this program the participant will be able to:
- Describe how the design of B Strong BFR bands doesn’t cause arterial occlusion
- Explain the benefits of Blood Flow Restriction Training
- Explain the mechanisms of Blood Flow Restriction Training
- Correctly list at least 4 of the precautions and contraindications to B Strong BFR as presented in the course
- Compare the 5 differences between utilizing a wide rigid cuff versus a narrow elastic cuff as presented in the course
- Plan an upper extremity, lower extremity, and total body exercise program for a client using BFR Training
Education Level: Beginner
The following items are required to receive a completion certificate and / or CEU certificate:
- Attend entire live portion of course
- Post-Course Exam (80% to pass, unlimited attempts given)
- Post-Course Evaluation
All portions, with the exception of the live portion, are completed in our online learning platform. Attendance at the live portion is tracked. A completion certificate will be available upon completion of the post-course evaluation.
