Virtual Level I: IASTM Fundamentals - Saturday, February 8, 2025
This course is eligible for up to 7.5 Hours of CE Credit.
This is a Live, 4-Hour Virtual course. This is an introductory skills acquisition course covering the basics of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Participants will receive hands-on instruction in the appropriate use of IASTM, through a lab-focused teaching format. This course first addresses the science behind the myofascial system and myofascial dysfunction, the history and science of IASTM, and the current body of IASTM research. Participants will then learn IASTM instrument anatomy, basic IASTM strokes, including how to target specific soft tissue regions and dysfunctions, and relevant IASTM treatment parameters & variables with a focus on clinical rationale to support the overall treatment strategy.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE VIRTUAL FORMAT:
This is a LAB-based and interactive course. It is strongly recommended (but not required) to have access to the following:
1. (For IASTM) At least one IASTM tool and a partner / "patient" to practice on.
2. (For BFR) BFR equipment. BFR application / practice can be performed on a partner or yourself.
Our in-person and virtual courses cover the same information, course objectives, and have the same certification exams. For virtual, the live (zoom) portion has a condensed schedule.

At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Review the current science behind the myofascial system and myofascial dysfunction
- Understand the anatomy of different IASTM instruments and IASTM treatment considerations
- Recognize common IASTM treatment variables and techniques
- Demonstrate preferred IASTM treatment strokes and the use of different instruments for specific body regions

The following items are required to receive a completion certificate and / or CEU certificate:
- Pre-Course Modules + Quiz (70% to pass, unlimited attempts given)
- Attend entire live portion of course
- Post-Course Exam (80% to pass, unlimited attempts given)
- Post-Course Evaluation
All portions, with the exception of the live portion, are completed in our online learning platform. Attendance at the live portion is tracked. A completion certificate will be available upon completion of the post-course evaluation.
